Japanese man charged with killing lottery-winning girlfriend (USA Today)

A Japanese man was charged today with killing his girlfriend after she won more than $2 million in the lottery, Kyodo News reports. Kyodo says Jinichi Kumagai, 51, told investigators he did a “pitiful thing” in 2005 following “quarrels” with Hisako Yoshida, 42, over repayment of a loan. The Yomiuri Shimbun says police found more than $400,000 in the woman’s bank accounts after she disappeared. …
