Americans are currently enjoying lower gasoline prices as oil hovers below $40 a barrel. But Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens says it would be foolish to think that oil prices will remain low. The outspoken billionaire was on Capitol Hill Tuesday to renew his push for the development of alternative energy sources. In a CNBC interview, he said oil could rise to $75 a barrel if the crisis in the Middle East continues. VOA’s Mil Arcega reports.

LITTLE ROCK — The 87th General Assembly convened Monday amid tough economic times but with an air of expectancy with structuring a state-run lottery, cutting the state grocery tax and other major issues on the legislative agenda.
The Federal Government has assured that all illegal lottery and lottery related acts will soon be outlawed in the country. The move, among other things is aimed at showing government’s full commitment to strengthening the National Sports Lottery (NSL) Plc to increase its revenue capacity.
CHEYENNE — Legislators will have another chance to pass a state lottery bill in the weeks ahead. The new proposal is modeled after the 15-year-old Georgia lottery.
