New Retail Stores at Hartsfield Jackson

Why not shop til you drop before you fly? The worlds busiest airport has opened 13 new stores as part of its ongoing retail renaissance program, including seven stores in the Atrium, and will offer a total of more than 70 stores in all by this summer.

The concessions in the Atrium are designed to improve customers travel experience and to meet global customers discerning shopping tastes. On-the-go travelers will appreciate both the convenience and upscale merchandise available from Brooks Brothers, Brighton Collectibles, Drugs & More featuring the AeroClinic and the Georgia Aquariums Beyond the Reef, available through a partnership with The Paradies Shops. The remaining stores are located throughout the Airports concourses.

Hartsfield-Jackson has once again answered the needs of the traveling public, said Aviation General Manager Ben DeCosta. When our customers told us they wanted variety, we not only listened, we delivered.

The newly opened Atrium stores are operated by award-winning airport concessionaire The Paradies Shops, and are located on the south side of the Atrium. The Paradies Shops are known to offer an entertaining, traveler-friendly experience, ranging from innovative newsstands and internationally recognized clothiers to a lively retail market. The Paradies Shops will open 13 new stores at Hartsfield-Jackson before summer 2009, including The New York Times Books & News, CNBC News Atlanta, Newsbeat Atlanta, Atlanta.net, LACOSTE, Piedmont Park TravelMart and Tech Showcase.

The Paradies Shops was formed in Atlanta almost 50 years ago, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to operate world class stores in our hometown and at the worlds busiest airport, said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO. I am very proud of our 3,205 team members for their efforts in providing first-class customer service each and every day, especially in these very challenging economic times. I remain impressed and appreciative of how our team has and continues to rise to the occasion in exceeding the expectations of the traveling public.

The new concessions program was designed to provide a high level of quality concepts for our customers with improved variety and a strong sense of place, said Concessions Director John Cugasi. We hope to meet the needs of the 250,000 customers that pass through the Airport daily and improve their travel experience.

Hartsfield-Jackson, recently named, the 2009 winner of Airport Revenue News Best Concessions Management Team award for the large airport division, opened its first retail renaissance store in November 2008. Stores opening soon include, Zegna, Sean John, Reebok, Harley-Davidson, technology stores, body care shops and additional Georgia-themed stores, such as the Zoo Atlantas Panda Veranda.
