LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe said Friday he generally supports the proposals lawmakers have drafted for setting up lottery-funded scholarships, including a recommended sliding scale legislators would use to set award amounts based on the game’s revenues.

CHERYL BURKE BEAUFORT — County officials just received some unwelcome news — the state is taking away money earmarked for education from North Carolina Education Lottery proceeds, which adds up to $1 million for this county.

MONROVIA — Robert Gladstein has a reason to feel lucky after claiming his second lottery ticket scratch-off prize in just six months. Gladstein, of Monrovia, claimed $50,000 at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters last week, winning on the new Money Mania Scratch-off after its launch Feb. 13.
