A Royal Palm Beach man won $1.7 million after buying a winning lotto ticket in Pinellas County earlier this month, according to state lottery officials.

An aide to Lt. Gov. Bill Halter says Halter believes some of the salaries for managers of the state’s new lottery are “too high.” Halter said Monday that heÂ’s surprised by a few of the lottery managersÂ’ salary levels, but he declined to cite any particular one.

The Florida Lottery announced today that three players matched all five winning numbers in the Monday, July 27, FANTASY 5 drawing and will share a $194,357.58 top prize.

The Fall River man who claims he won the lottery twice in one day is now under a cloud of suspicion.

FALL RIVER – A Fall River man got double the excitement after winning the lottery twice in one day. Scott Brunelle, 29, won $1,000 on a scratch ticket yesterday. He returned to the same store and bought another ticket, which yielded Brunelle $1 million.
