The TV stations which air the nightly Kentucky Lottery drawing program in the state’s three largest media markets has changed, effective today.
The Arkansas lottery began Monday with large sales and large winnings. Until Oct. 31, when Powerball begins, Arkansans can only purchase instant win tickets, or scratch-offs. The ticket cost, $1, $2 and $5. People lined up outside of gas stations to start purchasing lottery tickets on Monday morning.
A gas station in Little Rock sold the first lottery ticket in Arkansas on Monday, Sept. 28. The state Constitution, written in 1874, banned the lottery and we were one of only eight states without a lottery until now. I am excited about the positive effects this change should have on our state.
